National and global context
The following benchmarks describe buildings across the United States and worldwide, not Hamilton College.
From our January 2026 presentation to Hamilton.
The plan is to teach with the campus buildings
The pilot builds on Architecture as Pedagogy (Orr, 1993). Its premise is that a campus's buildings are part of its education. The goal is to combine storytelling with real time feedback, so students learn from their own community.
An Oberlin example: the Adam Joseph Lewis Center at Oberlin College. What the pilot uses
How people will use it
These are the teaching opportunities in the presentation to Hamilton. They're plans for now, not results.
In class

In residential life
The plan includes town-gown projects, C-Neutral stories like Oberlin's, and a sustainability trail, still in development.
